Circular Head Colts’ Kalon Nicholls retired on a half century during round three of Cricket North West proceedings in Ulverstone on Sunday.
Taking on the Ulverstone Black Caps, the visitors won the toss to bat the first innings.
Openers Jotham Saward and Cooper Mallinson were prematurely dismissed for a duck and one run respectively, before Eli Bellinger (20) and Nicholls (51 retired) partnered to prepare a victory for the Colts.
Kade Hardy (13) and Jonah Evans (6 not out) followed single digits stands in the middle order to finish the 40 overs off and post 6/125.
In the second innings, Circular Head restricted the opposition to single digit scores for the first six batsmen.
In bowling, Coker claimed three wickets from a mere four runs in four overs, including one maiden while Mallinson took two wickets from 11 runs, in five overs with one maiden. Eli Arnold (1/9), Nicholls (1/11) and Popowski (1/17) were supported with two catches from Bellinger and one apiece from Hardy and Mallinson.
Ulverstone failed to reach Circular Head’s target, falling short on 9/95.
In round four of Cricket North West action, Circular Head will take on Burnie Hurricanes Purple this Sunday (December 2) at Smithton Recreation Ground from 10am.
