The Circular Head Colts Under 15 team displayed a strong standing against Latrobe Demons in round two of the Cricket North West competition on Sunday.
The Colts won the toss to take the bat, starting with openers Jotham Saward (34) and Cooper Mallinson (10).
The pair partnered to lead the side in a strong start to the innings before being succeeded by Eli Bellinger (5) and Kalon Nicholls (1).
Tomas Coker (28 not out) blasted four balls towards the boundary during his innings, partnering with both Kade Hardy (7) and Jonah Evans (4).
Following 40 overs, Circular Head settled with 7/127.
In the second innings, bowler Rylee Popowski took three wickets from four overs to concede 10 runs as well as a catch in the field in a standout performance.
Bellinger also added to the action with three catches.
The Colts’ Nicholls (2/11), Saward (1/3), Hardy (1/9) and Eli Arnold (1/10) took the remaining wickets to prevent the Demons from reaching the target, finishing on 9/90.
In round three of the Cricket North West season, the Circular Head Colts will take on Ulverstone Black Caps this Sunday (November 25) in Ulverstone from 10am.
