NWFL. The Greenham Tasmania Circular Head Giants endured an annihilation in the North West Football League on Saturday.
The Wynyard Cats launched a strong home-ground campaign, leaving the Giants to pick up the pieces of a six goal margin at the main break.
Nathan Bransden, playing game 300 for the club, notched two goals alongside two from Josh Coombe and one from both Guy Kearnes and Tyrone Morrison.
To the Giants’ credit, the side prevented 18 behinds from becoming majors throughout the contest, conceding the game 23.18.156 to 6.7.43.
Connor Smith claimed the Reserves’ only goal in the final term of a 16.21.117 to 1.1.7 defeat.
After a three point first quarter, the Under 18 side performed more conclusively in the following terms, remaining competitive throughout the tight contest to concede 9.7.61 to 7.17.59.
In round 16 of the North West Football League, Circular Head will host Penguin this Saturday (August 4) where Michael ‘Moonie’ Ollington is set to notch 400 club games.
