CHFA. The third round of the Circular Head Football Association season saw a dominating performance from Irishtown in both the Seniors and Reserves games.
With a home ground advantage, Irishtown led ahead of Redpa in the Seniors to notch seven majors while the visitors contributed one behind in the opening quarter.
The onslaught continued in the second quarter as Kyle Everett claimed an astounding 10 goals and Ben Dawson sealed seven throughout the contest.
Marshall Evans, of Redpa, claimed the visiting side’s sole goal in the third quarter as Zach Bransden pushed the side to rally.
Irishtown expanded the margin to 100 points at the final change before securing seven majors in the last quarter to claim a 22.22.154 to 1.3.9 victory.
Meanwhile in the Reserves, Irishtown booted five goals in the opening quarter followed by a further five in the second as Redpa responded with one before half time.
Kicking slowed in the third quarter before Irishtown upped the pace to steal seven goals before the final siren and win, 21.13.139 to 1.2.8.
In the Forest Stanley and Scotchtown senior game, the sides see-sawed between scoreboard leaders as Scotchtown entered the first break with a narrow nine point lead before Forest Stanley turned the tables at half time to stand nine points ahead.
One point separated the sides at the final change in favour of the Tigers whose leading goal kicker, coach Brent Burgess had bagged seven majors. Brandon Tonks responded with six of his own for the Demons.
Forest Stanley moved into the final quarter to notch an additional three goals ahead of Scotchtown and claim the game, 14.7.91 to 11.7.73.
In the Reserves, Forest Stanley held Scotchtown scoreless in the first quarter and prevented their opponents from bagging a major until the third quarter to walk away with a 9.4.57 to 3.11.29 win.
In Under 17 proceedings, Forest Stanley claimed a 10 point win against Scotchtown, 5.8.38 to 4.4.28, while Irishtown earned a 20 point victory against Redpa, 6.8.44 to 3.5.24.
The Irishtown and Redpa Under 14 game saw the visitors hold the home side scoreless until the final quarter before claiming the win, 3.3.21 to 1.1.7. Forest Stanley claimed a two goal victory ahead of Scotchtown, 4.2.26 to 2.2.14.
Round four of the Circular Head Football Association will be held this Saturday (April 28) when Irishtown host Scotchtown and Redpa greet Forest Stanley.
