Smithton Saints’ Division Three pennant team of Jean Cameron, Lyn Savage, Joy Auld and skip Cherylle Pedley gained two valuable points in last Thursday’s game against Latrobe.
Meanwhile, the Div One team found the going tough, meeting with Latrobe.
Saturday’s Div Two team earned the result they were after, defeating Penguin 94 to 87.
Outstanding contributors were Nigel Pedley’s rink of Rodney O’Halloran, Julie Oates and Cherylle Pedley winning by 22 shots and Russell Hugo’s rink of Donald Ralston, Ross Arnold and Terry Auld who also gained the win.
Michael Neilson’s rink fought back in the second half of the game to get the team over the line. The 10 points the team gained enabled Smithton to return to second place on the ladder.
The Div Four team played at Wynyard with the welcoming inclusion of John Stronach and Ian Neilson. Two excellent rink wins were recorded by Tom O’Halloran and Michael Berechree while Kenneth Moore gained a draw and Graham Horne went down by a low margin.
