Bowlers’ day out in U/16s

Cricket. In the Circular Head Cricket Association’s U16 matches on Saturday, Marrawah beat TC Blues comfortably by 46 runs while Irishtown had an easy win over Forest Stanley.

Marrawah captain Logan Smith scored his first 50 not out for the season and Bailey Grey (not out) followed him shortly after.

Bryce Walters (16), Isaac Popowski (14) and Connor Black (13) also batted well to help Marrawah post 7/213.

All TC bowlers bowled well with first-gamer Tomas Coker 1/16 along with Jake Grey 1/16 and Eli Huisman 1/16 being the best performers.

TC were all bowled out for 167 though Lochie Blakemore (52no), Eli Huisman (39) and Joel Keep (20) fought very hard with the bat. Marrawah’s opening bowler Ben Spinks continued his fine start to the season with 3/10 off seven overs.

Jotham Saward 1/6, Bryce Walters 1/13 and Isaac Popowski 1/12 all bowled very tight.

At Forest Primary, Irishtown batted first and were all out for 174. Brodie Davison scored a fine 50 to be the best with the bat and tall, quick bowler Kaleb O’Halloran 4/26 and spin bowler Kailon Oates 3/9 gave their all for Forest Stanley.

The Irishtown bowlers all bowled tight and dismissed Forest Stanley for just 94.

O’Halloran (28) followed up from his bowling performance to be their best batsmen.
