Award. Tall Timbers Tasmania has been recognised as the regional Hotel of the Year at the Tasmanian Hospitality Association’s gala dinner on Monday night.
Held at Wrest Point in Hobart, the event showcases the state’s best venues in presenting the 2015 THA Awards for Excellence.
Tall Timbers’ other awards on the night included: Best Marketed Establishment; Best Guided Tour Experience; and Best Sports Bar.
Attended by more than 500 industry members from across the state, Tall Timbers general manager John Dabner said the awards were thanks to a “great team effort” for the local business.
In the lead up to the awards, establishments are mystery shopped and judged on merit.
“That’s the beauty about the THA awards,” Mr Dabner said.
“It’s great that the region’s got a property to this standard in our little corner of the state.”
He said staff are well accustomed to the mystery shopper process, with the gaming area tested monthly and staff further motivated to provide excellent customer service through incentives.
In what has been a successful few years for Tall Timbers, the business also took out the top regional hotel honour last year, as well as best sports bar and mid-range accommodation.
Last month, two awards from the Cradle Coast Regional Tourism Awards were added to the collection, for best accommodation and adventure tours.
