Myself and family travelled from Hobart and Queensland respectively to attend the Anzac Day commemorations in Smithton this year.
I would like to say how fantastic the town itself looked, and the cenotaph area is simply outstanding.
I would also like to sincerely congratulate the team of volunteers responsible for the amazing efforts put in to make this Anzac Day so very special.
From the organisation of the actual day and the decorations of flags and silhouettes, to the plinths at the cenotaph and the staff and volunteers of the RSL with their fabulous breakfasts, lunches and friendly service over the whole weekend.
Thank you sincerely one and all. The ones who are no longer with us physically would be very, very proud.
